Mounted: Tracked
Tracked
vehicles, such as AIFVs, APCs and MBTs, house some of the highest
and constant noise environments experienced by the modern soldier,
with noise levels of up to 120dB(A), for periods of up to eight
hours or more. Wearing a ballistic helmet, with the need to clearly
communicate to other crewmembers, can be uncomfortable and
tiring.
This sets some rigorous challenges for the
communications headset, ones that Racal addresses through combining
passive and active noise reduction techniques and enhanced acoustic
capability. The result is clear, intelligible communications using
noise cancelling microphones and ANR
(click here for an explanation) technology. End-user
fatigue is minimised by a headset that is comfortable to wear,
rugged, easy to use and specifically designed to integrate with
ballistic and bump protection equipment.
