RA195 Combat ANR Headset
Overview
Originally designed for the British Army Mk VI combat helmet,
the RA195 has been field proven through several conflicts and
has received a number of product improvements.
Key Features
- Active Noise Reduction
- Electronic Talk Through
- Retrofittable, digital ANR (coming in 2008)
Benefits
The RA195 has noise attenuation exceeding that of some combat
vehicle crew (CVC) helmets. Used with the new generation of
helmets such as the US advanced combat helmet (ACH) it is a viable
alternative to the conventional CVC helmet, offering more ballistic
coverage and protection particulalry from roadside blasts.
New earcushion material has been used that leads to reduced
fatigue and ultimately better effectiveness.
Technology insertion in the form of retrofittable, digital
ANR means that users will benefit from a whole host of new
features such as built in test, which will extend the
headset's service life and lead to reduced whole life costs.
Applications
The RA195 is ideal for mechanised infantry in tracked AIFVs and
APCs.
